Overview

  • CLATIUM CODE is an AI coding harness for the terminal: you describe a task, a language model reads and edits files and runs commands on your machine, and every action is recorded in a session log you can rewind, fork or replay.
  • It is written in Rust and split into a reusable core library and a terminal interface, so the agent loop can be embedded in other applications.

Note: CLATIUM CODE is in the design phase. No code has been written yet. The only artefact is one internal design document. Everything below describes what is planned.

Planned for v1

  • Talks to a language model and streams its responses.
  • Reads, searches, creates and edits files.
  • Runs shell commands (PowerShell on Windows) with streamed output.
  • Asks permission before changing files or running commands, with configurable rules and modes: default, accept-edits, read-only plan and bypass.
  • Keeps a visible task plan.
  • Records every step to a log that can be resumed, rewound or replayed without contacting a model.
  • Restores files as well as the conversation when rewinding.

Planned model providers

  • Ollama Cloud (API key)
  • xAI Grok (OAuth login)

Planned technical design

  • Sessions: append-only event logs. Replaying one reproduces it exactly, which allows rewind, branching and offline tests.
  • File checkpoints: content-addressed.
  • Headless core: the core has no terminal dependency and can run headless.
  • Windows first: CRLF line endings, long paths, reserved filenames and PowerShell quoting.
  • Privacy: no telemetry. The only outbound traffic is the configured model requests.

What it is not

  • Not a fork of Claude Code, OpenCode or any other agent.
  • Not a GUI, editor extension, IDE plugin, daemon or hosted service.
  • Not related to Minecraft, Minecraft modding or Horizon.
  • No plugin marketplace, cloud sync or accounts.

Roadmap

The roadmap has no dates.

  1. v1: terminal agent with chat, file read, search and edit, shell, permissions, hooks, a visible plan, a session log with rewind, fork and replay, and an evaluation suite.
  2. v1.5: on-demand skill packs, custom slash commands, subagents, an MCP client, image input and background commands.
  3. v2: ConPTY, sandboxed command execution, finer-grained diff approval, per-role model routing and session search.

Known limitations

  • It is not usable today.
  • There is no public repository, release or download.
  • No availability date has been set.
